THE GAP

I am not thinking about the clothing store but rather the Gap that sometimes arises in relationships. After moving to Florida there has been a geographical gap between myself, friends and family. Email and the like helps to overcome that, but it is intersting as time goes how life is just different here in Florida. You know like the fact that it is turning fall in Chicago. The temps are cooling and soon the leaves will be turning. Here we are glad that soon the humidity will break and we will have God-given paradise weather. It is just different.

Some gaps in relationships happen not because of a change of location but out of neglect. Some relationship gaps occur because of hurt feelings.

Sometimes a gap can occur between us and God. Maybe this is from our neglecting our relationship. You know just doing the “God thing” doesn’t mean I am connecting with God. Connecting with God requires some vulnerability, some time and some faith. God rewards those who seek to have the gap filled. He is the gap filler.

Personally I have been asking God to close the gap in my life. I don’t want to be far from him. So I give Him permission to fill the Gap. I look to creating space for the Gap to be filled. Sounds like a contradiction but I am looking to give God time. I am lookng to give God the space where some hurts have occurred. I am looking to give God the space that was once reserved for my dreams and aspirations. It is hard to explain, but I know God is ready to fill the GAP.
