STATION FIVE:

NAILING ON THE CROSS

Luke 23:33
When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.

Long ago, the greatest public display of affection took place on a cross called Calvary… Jesus submitted to the will of His Father and chose to die a criminal’s death for the sake of our freedom. Not only was He feeling physical pain, but He also felt the public shame that came with dying on a cross. In those days, crucifixion was only meant for criminals, yet Jesus humbled Himself and was willing to feel this shame.

Pick up a nail and feel the sharp point.  Place it in your bag to remind you of the nails that were placed in Jesus’ arms and feet on the cross.

If you would like, take a post-it and write something you would like to leave at the cross…maybe something you’ve done wrong or something you struggle with… uses one of the small nails to leave it with Jesus today!

“He always has freedom on His mind for you.” Be encouraged to know that along with Jesus being nailed on the cross, all your guilt and shame was nailed to the cross as well.

Please take a moment to pray that those things you are ashamed of can be left at the cross with Jesus’ sacrifice.
